Fascinated by this culture and lifestyle since a young boy. It is very colorful, romantic, and exciting. But then, so is the life of a pirate. Great for the fantasy & daydreams of a young lad, but not so much in the real world we live in today. It's a shame, but much like so many other things, it must go the way of dinosaurs.

Moses father in law Jethro was a Bedouin.

It brought tears to her eyes, which in turn brought tears to mine. I still think of the poor little thing to this day. Their struggle is real!

When I visited Egypt in 2020, we went to the middle of the desert in the Sinai peninsula and came across a small Bedouin village settled around a small water spring. No more than 40 people in population. Their young kids would sell beautiful necklaces and bracelets made out of local colorful stones. I felt pity for this young beautiful girl, probably 10 years of age, having to spend the entire day in the hot desert (around 110 degrees) hoping to sell at least one item for 10 pounds which at the time was only about 66 cents in American dollars. I gave her the equivalent of $20 in Egyptian pounds as a donation, and she couldn't believe her eyes! She then attempted, fruitlessly, to give like a dozen bracelets in gratitude. I had my wife translate a message from me to her, "Darling, I will only take one to remind me of you."
