Having been from The Bay Area originally, I know that the entire description in the answer is correct EXCEPT that SEA LIONS, NOT seals, gather near the piers in Fisherman's Wharf. It saddens me deeply that so many people get seals & sea lions mixed up. They are in the same animal family, but they are 2 different types.

I've been to San Francisco before. Once to go to a SF Giants baseball game( I'm a huge Giants fan) and another to go to the Exploratorium. I stayed over night in a hotel across the street from a store with a statue of pants.
