Which kind of artist was Barnett Newman?

Never heard of this guy and no available hints. Nuff said!

I wish they had some pictures of his art?

I own a book about him. I would call him more of a color field painter than an abstract expressionist.

I went and googled some of his work.....and I guess it's not my "thing"....

not my cup of tea either!

Laurie, it is somebody's though. I just read that in 2014 1 of his paintings was auctioned off for $84mil !! that's a bunch of dough for his estate. wow!

hawkeye9090, I guess I don't know art. I'd call them color blocks. he looks angry in the picture above, but hopefully that's not the case.
