Not really true that London is the only city with over 1 million inhabitants in the UK - London’s population figure is derived from its urban population whereas other British cities use council areas for core populations. By the same measure, Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham all have over 1 million people in their urban areas.

City of London is about 1 square mile and has a very small inhabitant population.
