First of all, I don't agree that Van Damme is all that great an actor. Never saw him "act" in anything that would would make him deserving a great actor status. Secondly, his "Prima Dona" attitude as described, if true, makes me even less inclined to consider him a great actor.

I think he had a valid point about passing out, but even without being recognizable, van Damme could have put in a good performance if he wanted to. Some stunt players, like Kane Hodder and Nick Castle, have given unequaled performances of silent, masked characters like Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers.
