Tibetsy: The question was about pigmentation of flamingo feathers, & that, scientifically proven, it comes from the food they eat. Please explain how that is hurtful. Obviously, you have some issues comparing that to your being different.

Flamingos in captivity can be very friendly. I have had them come up to me and nuzzle with their beaks. At a zoo in Victoria BC, Canada

my mom worked at last 5&dime in Miami that sold plastic Pink Flamingos. Haha. Retro now. Heard Flamingos in Zoo's are also fed carrots to help color.

Silverfox, yes, actually in Namibia, the water in the salt pans is pink (because of the salt I guess). Isn't it the reason why flamingos are pink?

long time ago I went to silver springs Florida where they have the glass bottom boats where Tarzan was filmed and other movies and there were probably/50 or so flamingos eating and then they were startled and took off it was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen I always felt like there were hundreds of them but probably not.
