Which year did the Australian soap opera "Neighbours" debut on Australian television?

A good starting platform for many an Aussie. I can’t say I’ve watched it for years but used to go through periods of getting hooked on it again. I can’t say for all the talent to come out of it cause there’s many & I don’t know them all, though in my opinion Guy Pearce is probably one of the best & was not as well publicised as Kylie or Jason was reasonably underrated for a few years. He’s made his mark on the world stage now though & married the red witch from GoT played by Carice van Houten haha I look forward to seeing his future projects as he’s got a good range.
