What was invented first?
Correct answer: Telephone
Aesirkind
the telephone was invented by Antonia Meucci, but he couldn't afford the patent. Alexander Graham Bell worked in the patent office when Meucci tried to patent his phone, and Alexander took the opportunity to patent it himself. Meucci took Graham Bell to court over the fact this was his invention, but died before the case could reach a verdict. converting Bells place in history. Booo Graham Bell.

Alexander Graham Bell patented over 1000 patents, but the only thing he can actually be credited for inventing was the word "hello"

Player #2027175,
Leonardo had schematic drawings of planes and helicopters and many other things that later were made out of stuff that wasn't available in Leo's time. He was an incredible inventor and painter.

Aesirkind,
He probably managed to steal the idea just before Thomas Edison could

Of course it was the telephone. Otherwise how would you ring up for a taxi to take you to the airport!?!!

Aesirkind, Bell connected intercoms through switchboard operators. Other inventors added amplification and eventually, electromagnetically switching. Invention built upon invention and Bell’s humble intercom was slowly elaborated into what we know as a telephone.
So who invented the thing? Bell. Gray. Helmholtz. Edison. And the many, many, many others who contributed parts, ideas, components and intellectual property to its technical and commercial development. And as for Antonio Meucci, he apparently invented something equal to if note beyond what Bell would later produce, but he didn’t publish his work, file a patent, or commercialize a product, so in the end he did not participate in the broader development.

Aesirkind, not only that, Bell first tried to get a patent where he did his work (in Nova Scotia, Canada) but the patent office refused, so he went to the US.

Could someone at least mention the country where the television was invented?
They deserve to be credited for inventing something that is in almost every household in the world.

In 1848 John Stringfellow achieved the first powered flight using an unmanned 10 ft wingspan steam-powered monoplane built in a disused lace factory in Chard, Somerset. The Wright brothers mentioned him after their flight.
ScienceGirl
i mean one could argue that the car is the first invention here. Throughout history carts and cars (as some cultures called them) existed for millenia or centuries so i gotta say maybe make the question a bit more specific.

Wow, so many smart players here. I have no idea who or that Anontio Meucci invented the telephone and that Alexander took the credit for it.
