As a history major, I cannot tell you how many battles/events ended badly for the side that was positive their enemies wouldn't attack them on some sacred day or another... in this instance Xmas. You think they would have learned by now that no day is sacred when it comes to war.

Titusville is a city? I know it as a quaint little town... it's a very beautiful place on both sides of the river.

Just to let you know it was Hopewell township, Mercer County. Not Howell

I live 2 miles from where Washington crossed the Delaware, yet I’ve never attended the re-enactment on Christmas. Half the time, they are unable to cross because the water is too low & sometimes the weather is uncooperative.

The Johnson Ferry House is still there, it’s on the Pennsylvania side & was a general store, not sure if it still is.

Reality is that Americans didn't even celebrate Christmas at this time period. They saw it as unpatriotic and a holdover from British traditions.

Got this right, but purely as a guess! Born and raised in NJ; lived here practically my entire life. I don't live very far from Howell, but never knew this about Washington's Crossing. Love this game.

I always thought it was on Xmas morning cause the Hessians didn t think there would be attacks on a holiday. The re enactment usually gets postponed cause the river water is too low or high. This year i think there was too much ice.
