How is a kiwifruit otherwise known?

did you know that the kiwi is related to the banana? if you cut them in half both have seeds in the centre.i know this as I have an anaplaxys reaction to both.

I never heard the fruit called anything but Kiwi!

I grew up in NZ and knew them as Chinese gooseberries. Kiwis being birds, you didn't eat them. Now Kiwis are also fruits and also people... the language changes as the years go by.

my daughter called them gorilla eggs when she was young.

Gary, the gooseberries I've had were pink.

ZyggyStardust, I guess because gooseberry's are green and kiwi's are green inside but not outside.
