AlluringPony318, You’re absolutely right about the word sashimi being other than just for seafood. (I am Japanese myself and have had the raw chicken you have had (called “tori wasa”) and was pretty skeptical about it at first^^; As for a good example of the word sashimi being used for other meats, it would be “Basashi”, which is raw horse meat , the word “ba” which uses the character for horse and the latter part “Sashi” which derives from the word sashimi.:) (I for one will never eat horse meat though!)
