He did most of his own stunts. A very funny and clever man. We watched him as children, he had a lovely smiley face and was very charismatic, a joy to watch.

Saw him live at the Birmingham Hippodrome. He was in his seventies then, but still incredibly agile, climbing high onto stage scenery as part of his act! Great memories...
