Did he invent the custard powder as his wife was allergic to one of the ingredients in usual custard. Can't remember if it was eggs or milk!

Aluminium? That doesn't sound healthy! It's easy to make baking powder by mixing bicarbonate of soda and cream of tartar, although I forget the proportions
