It is hard to say with todays economy how long this train will be able to run...hopefully many more years past 2019...who knows !

mellowdeeee, travelled on it in early 2020 , was our bucket list, for our 30th anniversary, the highlights are superb tainted with the fact it travels through a number of townships who have nothing, also the run into Cape town is saddening, it's life on the other side before anyone asks we're working class and £3000 for 3 nights takes a lot of swallowing.

My sister & her daughter booked a trip on the blue train in 2010 but it got cancelled just beforehand due to some problem with the train. They ended up staying at a luxury safari lodge instead (organised by the train company as compensation) which they absolutely loved.
