In which year did the first weather report in a newspaper appear?

Rick-N-Bacher, yah it seems very odd having a century and a few rather than just a few. How could the newspaper I grew up with have weather forecasts (in color on Sundays?) before the NYT? I'm guessing someone mixed up 1900's with 19th century.

the explanation has a century gap from 1848 to 1951. what happens in those years?

Player Elf Counsel, hmmm.1848 seems reasonable. crazy climate-changing pollution had not taken place yet and there was indeed some kind of pattern to the weather.
