How many miners were trapped for 69 days in the San Jose Mine near the Chilean city of Copiapó in 2010?

as a chilean i'm extremely proud of this feat ...but better than this I only wish that working together .... we could definitely defeat poverty and cruelty on this planet ....

Mining seems to cause too many horrible accidents and was (still is in some countries) responsible for cruel working conditions. Also massive environmental damage - and of course now we know about the link between coal mining and catastrophic climate change. We all use and benefit from the products of mining, but I wonder if we could invent safer, cleaner ways to live?

I wonder, why it took so long to rescue those great ppl? God bless that everyone was in good health 🙏
