In what industry did John Davison Rockefeller get rich?

During the Great Depression many families could not feed their children and so theyhad to put them in orphanages. If Rockefeller had given just a little bit of money to help provide basic food for children, it would have been a huge relief and the parents could have kept their kids. He had lots of lawmaker connections and he used tax loopholes and lobbying to be in control of things . About a decade ago when big busines needed help, our tax money helped them out. I'm sorry I got off track there, just going through heavy stress after paying my taxes this week.

The company still exists, of course. Only now it's known by just its initials, SO (ESSO).

LittleMissyA0107, that's because it wasn't illegal then. Rockefeller also had part of Anaconda Copper and the owners were all shorting the stock & bankrupting lots of people... which led to the Great Depression, which was when stricter laws were put in place.

The worst is Rockerfella realised he could recreate ‘natural’ remedies from nature with petroleum products. Nature can’t be patented but his 90% wholly owned oil businesses could. Natural remedies passed down through generations, plant médecines etc which were then taught in the education system were paid millions (in funding) to discredit. Pagan healing and natural remedies were mocked and doctors were even prosecuted for preaching natural remedies. The rich get richer… pharmacy companies are and only ever have been the winner here. Where I live in France every chemist has a huge selection of ‘natural’ and plant remedies. Many prescription drugs are based on natures own production which, would be far far better (and cheaper!!) for you to take in its natural fresh picked state. Wake up people and smell the deceit - peace!
