GuitarPop, I've been playing guitar for 55+ years, and the only alt tunings I've used are the low E to D bass, and the open E or open A for blues and slide guitar.

Dr Funkfunk, I didn't understand one word of it either. I'm somewhat Musical and fairly scientifically grounded. It seemed to me the meaning of ostrich guitar was ~ no matter how badly you play if you tune your guitar this way you won't sound too awful.
