Wales has the dragon as a heraldic symbol hmm I wonder if there’s a deeper meaning like the analogy with St Patrick beating all the snakes (chasing off etc old religion/pagans) out of Ireland. Hmm interesting so the national animal emblem of Scotland has the mythical unicorn & Wales has a mythical dragon I guess I should hit the books & do some reading on that one or watch a cool historical documentary on the subject, history is so interesting.

Saint Georges was a christian martyr , tortured and killed by the pagan emperor. He never fought with a dragon to rescue a princess . The icon represent Saint Georges killing the devil ( dragon) to save the christian church ( prinsess) wich is the Christian people.
