Most of the fam is in and around Sutton, some in Charleston and some in Wheeling. There's a beautiful natural spring in Sutton called Bee's Run, just off of Airport Rd., it's a very neat lil spot, it gained its moniker due to the fact that a large type of bee inhabits the grounds there, literally speaking too as they burrow into the sand of the beach/bank of the spring; the spring is between two high mountain passes, the place is just absolutely beautiful and quite serene, I do suggest a visit if you ever get 'round that way. Another cool area, not too far from there, is the New River Gorge, where there's an annual base jumping event from atop the New River Gorge bridge; the riverwalks, the bridge and the river itself are a wonderful combination of sights to see, splendid place indeed!

It's illegal to pick the wildflowers there. Also, if you've heard of the Moth Man Prophecies, WV is the place of its origin, many other folklore legends originated throughout WV as well. I do suggest researching them all, they're quite interesting and entertaining to read about!🙂

My sister lived in Lost Creek WV. I never understood why they called it "LOST Creek" since people lived there. Wouldn't it then be called, "Found Creek"???

we went through wheeling on the way to California years ago. it was beautiful. I've had thT place in mind for years since. I wouldn't mind going back.

is now. Virginia is so beautiful my family went through the rolling hills on the way to California. my daughter kids me about coming out in a covered wagon ..the land is so green it's incredible.

constantgamer0421, Bridge Day is the third Saturday every October. For many years, I lived about two miles downriver from the bridge, now I live on the bank of the Kanawha River, which is formed at the confluence of the New and Gauley rivers at Gauley Bridge, WV.

I live about 45 min. from Shenadoah Valley.
