Which South American country was named after a great patriot?

I had heard of Simón Bolívar, but don't know much about him. It's amazing to think he liberated all those countries and makes me want to discover more about him

Nigel SP, Bolivar was one of the people my Mother had me study as she always called him a great man and the George Washington of South America. Simon Bolivar really was a great man.
