I served on board the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise CVN-65 (first nuclear powered aircraft carrier) was decommissioned 2012 and was the eighth US Navy ship to bear the name. The ninth ship to bear the name Enterprise will be the aircraft carrier CVN-80 which is under construction now.

I got to see Enterprise in Mobile, AL when it was traveling from the West back to Kennedy Space Center. It was on view at the local airport. Very cool!
