I treated my Mum to watching Jose Carreras in concert. She loved it and it is a memory I treasure as she is now gone.

While Andrea Bocelli has a lovely voice, he doesn’t have the power or stamina required of a real opera singer. He is often flat because his support isn’t great. I know I’ll get lots of thumbs down, but it’s true. The difference between Pavarotti and Bocelli is enormous! I’ve heard Luciano in person and know his voice well. His seemingly effortless delivery was due in part to the support techniques he learned from Dame Joan Sutherland. José Carreras has one of the most beautiful voices ever, but had to strain. Domingo for me was always a Baritone who forced his voice.

Player #33430329, I totally agree. Not to diminish the talents of Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras, there has never been a tenor that could match the resonating and rich tonal quality of Luciano Pavarotti.
