Great music that stands the test of time. So much music of yesteryear & today does not, that’s when you know it’s good, but like beauty .. it’s in the eye or should I say ear (lol) of the beholder.

* Seshati *, the quote is from Dr Timothy Leary: "Tune in, turn on and drop out." He spoke at my college (SUNY New Paltz) in the early '70s. He sat, cross-legged, on the stage in a blue spotlight he told us our homework assignment was to "go home and turn your parents on." New Paltz centered on art and theater studies. We were supposed - as artsy/actor types - to be drawn to that sort of behaviour. We booed him off the stage. Still, we had the dubious distinction of being the 1st campus in the University system to be busted for pot in the dorms.

A lot of rock groups took their name from books and films. Deep Purple took their name from guitarist Ritchie Blackmore's grandmother's favourite tune. Ahh, bless.
