Lenny the Clam, I fully agree; he was awesome in that role. Some articles & interviews, following the film's release, quote cast & crew that Hopkins was so "into character" that he scared the crap out of them daily!

what I find amusing is that in the film, he eats liver with a nice Chianti. The book however, pairs liver with Amarone (a much better choice!) but film makers found that too many Americans confused it with Amaretto ( di Saronno) which as you are all bound to know, is not appropriate at all!

Too many people idolize murderers. That's why this sick film made so much money. Having said that, I did enjoy watching it myself. Suspenseful and Hannibal was clever, just a total sicko.
