Randall Stone, yes, they have a small section of the garden (about 10 or 15 olive trees) protected, I was there several years ago. Pretty amazing!

Randall Stone, I don't doubt it at all. If it was on His missionary route no doubt. Imagine eating from the exact same tree as Jesus Christ, Jehovah God's only begotten son that is older in spirit then the universe. It's apparently 30 billion years old and Jesus was in heaven first, came to Earth to give His innocent perfect life for all us undeserving ungrateful sinners that we are. Yes Jesus Christ was the greatest Man to ever live. Amen. I would be in Awe of Him.

Randall Stone, Wasn't an olive branch that returned by a (dove?) back to Noah and his family, that the earth was flooded.

Randall, a likely story, unless you’ve ever tasted a raw olive. :). They are extremely bitter and not pleasant to eat unless processed. That’s not to say he didn’t have a way to quickly pickle it?

Just saw some footage on the news of 500 yr old olive trees whether many. It sure as it was a news excerpt showing the isle of lesbos Greece being inundated by refugees from Iran, Iraq & Afghanistan many many more than anticipated with live stock stolen or slaughtered & old trees cut even some as in the one I saw completely destroyed by what looked like angry destructive outburst on the poor old gorgeous 500 year old tree. So sad what humans are doing to nature & to each other. God bless us one & all!

My cousin in Athens went to university in New York, she told a funny story about a guy bragging about some American history and she clapped back with "Listen my friend, I have trees in my yard older than your country!"

I was in Jerusalem, and was told by our tour person that the Garden of Gethsemane is believed to be in the same spot as 2000 years ago. The olive trees that grow there, some are old but probably not dating back to Jesus' time.

In the summer of 2022, I visited Andria, Italy, a place in Puglia called "The City of Oil". I saw an ancient olive press, and everywhere I looked were olive trees. Even in a tiny triangle in a fork in the road, there would be 3 olive trees. Beautiful.

It is true indeed. There are even 3 very old olive trees near my village in the Isle of Euboea, the second largest Isle of Greece. I have seen them up close and they are estimated to be around 2000-2500 years old but there has not been an examination to determine their precise age.

1LivingInTheLight, Yes, so true you can't eat them raw. I tried years back to cure some that I picked in California. But it didn't turn out well.
