He sang it with a 5 octave voice, not just yelling, amazing!

This song has to be the Hardest Song Ever To Sing. I have seen professional singers not be able to hit those notes.

sorong papuabarat

IckyEra2, the German band The Scorpions also sang phonetically. When they were touring early to mid 80's they didn't speak English.

Doll Face
Skip2bSquare, true, I think the video was the first of its kind.

Mary
Graeme, Hey I see what you did there :-)

Mary
My favorite band. My profile picture was taken by my daughter during a concert in Napa CA in 2022. I flew to England in 2008 to see A-ha and Savoy perform a 20 minute set. A-ha chose to focus on success in Europe vs America which was smart of them. Their latest Album True North was accompanied by a film that was screened world wide one day only in cinemas on Sept 15 2022. I actually never liked Take On Me and instead prefer East Of The Sun West Of The Moon as my favorite a-ha song and album

J
Good tune my sister loved them so I nicked her tape and listened to them sandwiched between Queen and Metallica!!!

85 Bear
The most underrated & unappreciated band in my time. Take on me stands far alone to me as the best music video ever made. Nothing else comes even remotely close.

Zim27, yes, they are an 80s new wave group; cannot even be classified as punk rock.
