In Ireland, in County Cork and County Armagh, it is played on the back roads by lots of men, usually on a Sunday. If you are in either of these Counties on the back roads on a Sunday, and come across a lot of parked cars at the side of the road, be warned and drive carefully!

The bowl will curve near the end of the roll depending on it's bias. The ball isn't round and there's a large or smaller dot on each side of the bowl. It will curve towards the smaller dot side. Same as in curling where you turn the handle as you let go of the rock, and it will curve in the direction the rock is turning.

MeltinJohn, What are you talking about? The game "Jacks" is "knucklebones" . Nothing to do with bowls or polo (with or without horses!)
