I nearly died in this war. I was one of the lucky ones. I don't talk about it and never really have...I think I had PTSD many moons ago but we didn't know what that was back then. I made it through to triple digits but I cried a lot...unfortunately as tough war veterans, we would never weep in public. It's hard to explain how horrific war is unless you're on the front line. I still shake when I hear loud noises.

Centenarian, I never understood the "D" in PTSD for people who have been where you've been and seen what you've seen. All things considered, it shouldn't be considered a "disorder". Anyone who has been there on the front lines in combat that wasn't affected by it would have to be a complete psychopath. Thank you for your service and sharing your personal struggles with the rest of us. God Bless.

Centenarian, Thank you for your service. My dad was also in that war. He used to refer to person's so affected as "shell shocked" i married a Veteran on Vietnam. I was too young to understand this situation. It was part if the reason we divorced. Treatment then was not available. I think many, many soldiers suffered and are still suffering from this.
