Ever heard of light pollution? Ever wonder why you can't see stars or the aurora borielis like we used to be able to? It would be a much better plan to use solar collecters on light poles and hoods to point the light down. This is right up there with the stupidest things I've ever heard of.

The night sky has inspired mankind for a million years, but our kids can't see it. Only a few of the brightest stars are visible, and it's like looking through a mist. There is no velvet-black sky anymore.
