What is the function of eyelashes?
Correct answer: Eye protection

A friend of mine lost his eyelashes in an explosion and had troubles for a long time with dust getting in his eyes. You will never truly understand how much they actually do to protect your eyes until you lose them.

Taramaiden, You're correct. My thinking is that no part of our bodies is without SOME purpose. It may not be obvious or critical, but there's some sort of reason why it's there.

A lot of people fell for the "None of the options are correct" answer! 😁 Unlike the "All of the answers are right" this is clearly not universally applicable!

ChampionNymph37634, Have to agree there, although I think the appendix is still a bit of a mystery.

SOOTI,
I have recently read that the appendix serves as a store for copies of all your gut bacteria . If you have serious vomiting or diarrhoea you can lose all your gut bacteria which are mostly beneficial and needed for digestion .
These will then be replaced from the appendix .
Bit like an operating system backup .
I don’t know if this is true.

Player #50408308, Perhaps they are there to stop sweat from your forehead running down into your eyes? What puzzled me is that though we evolved to lose most of our face and body hair, men still grow beards. Head hair is obviously there to keep the head warm, but what function does a beard have, and why only men?

Myffa
SOOTI, I understood is that the appendix originally _did_ have a function, but we had evolved not to need it. Also that in rabbits the appendix still worked, which was why grass was fattening to them, but useless nutritionally to humans,
