A friend of mine lost his eyelashes in an explosion and had troubles for a long time with dust getting in his eyes. You will never truly understand how much they actually do to protect your eyes until you lose them.

Taramaiden, You're correct. My thinking is that no part of our bodies is without SOME purpose. It may not be obvious or critical, but there's some sort of reason why it's there.

A lot of people fell for the "None of the options are correct" answer! 😁 Unlike the "All of the answers are right" this is clearly not universally applicable!

ChampionNymph37634, Have to agree there, although I think the appendix is still a bit of a mystery.

SOOTI, I have recently read that the appendix serves as a store for copies of all your gut bacteria . If you have serious vomiting or diarrhoea you can lose all your gut bacteria which are mostly beneficial and needed for digestion . These will then be replaced from the appendix . Bit like an operating system backup . I don’t know if this is true.
