One of the most scenic spectacles of I-70 is the view of Denver, as you drop elevation eastbound toward the city. It's similar to the view of Albuquerque, New Mexico, on the approach traveling I-40 eastbound.

SaltyWillOWisp96651, Being a native Coloradoan I instantly knew what picture was. I disagree that they ruined the landscape thru Glenwood Canyon. They stacked each direction of lanes with one above the other thus having much less impact on the land. That portion is very beautiful and has been touted by many engineers.

The Eisenhower Tunnel is a true engineering feat. Before it was built that stretch of road was closed more often than it was open in the winter. I suspect the ski industry in Colo. had a stake in getting it built. "Honk the horn Daddy!" The Glen canyon portion ruined what was an awesome scenic landscape. It was a bear to get through during construction.
