GatorMama2014, driveway. It still is, along with most news that is published today. Very sad that all our newspapers have become propaganda sheets. I wish reporters would stop making up non-news and just report what actually happens. People can make up their own minds how they feel about things. It's all a New Age mindset. We called it lying in my day.
GatorMama2014
National Enquirer was considered yellow journalism.

The New York Times is rapidly becoming the leader in yellow journalism

Dan Rather had no problem tarnishing his reputation to report an unverified news story.

Too country specific. Questions should be answerable by players in the UK, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa etc.
In the UK tabloids are also known as "Red Tops" and so "Red" would be the most appropriate answer.

I believe the origins of this come from an American newspaper in New York in the mid 1800s. One of the comics in this newspaper was something called the yellow kid. the newspaper carried Sensational headlines and unsubstantiated stories from unverified sources. Hence the connection.

or the New York Times....

There should be legislation preventing fake news. The paparazzi is insane in the way they harass stars to find out about their personal lives. Who cares anyway. They are normal human beings with normal issues just like you and me
GruffSecretAgent9936
I knew the expression "yellow journalism" when I was a kid & I'm a Canadian. Some people's breadth of knowledge is very narrow indeed.

In today's world of media, the onus has shifted on to us consumers to counter-check ALL information we encounter anywhere.
I consider it more healthy than yesteryears' attitude of accepting facts simply because "it was on the radio / TV / BBC / The Times, etc."
Even the BBC ended up embroiled with at least one instance of wrong reporting which forced the resignation of its boss.

In all my 40 plus years, I've never heard this term before! Love new info!
sensei.
GatorMama2014, I find the I ternet Newsfeed, to be very yellow journalism. They constantly have sensational headlines with no real story.

Uninitialized, For me, part of the enjoyment of this game is learning new things. So now I've learned that in the US they are called "yellow"! 😊

Player #5166889, I'm British and there are lots of UK-centric questions I think are too niche, like "name the park between Everton and Liverpool football grounds". Its a fun quiz game; inevitably some questions will seem easy to one person and ridiculous to another. No point getting annoyed.
chickenlovesbiscuits
in the UK they'd be known as red tops!
Which Tyler
Whilst in the UK, these are called "red tops". As a rule, questions are generally a bit pointless when they only apply to one country, and far worse when an entirely different answer (and option) is correct in a different country
Player Algolthedemonstar
In the UK tabloid newspapers are called red tops, so this is not a good question.
Uninitialized
Too American-centric
Uninitialized
in the UK tabloids traditionally have a red topper so if you were going to ascribed a colour to them it would be red - confusing/ignorant to have red as an option.

GrandmaBonnie33, but what about when journalist Ta tell truth and Trump lies .. he does that a great deal. so do many politicians .. I can name quite a few in UK. but the lies get caught by ethical truthful journalists and we the public have the right to know all that goes on and be properly Informed
Peter Montgomery
elizabeth bennett, never heard it called yellow ...the term is very American specific and should clarify this ...
VividPotion6704
GrandmaBonnie33, he does it when they criticise him... that's not the same as lying

I have never heard of this must be an American thing.

Wigg53, that’s funny because I wanted to call it red.
