A heart warming story (excuse the pun) that makes you realise humanity is very often good.

( Snail Darter), choice, death or tax? You can't take money with you to the afterlife, but you can live a lot longer if you pay for it. Greed for money kills many a fool!
Toisha
( Snail Darter), It all comes out in the wash when its all said and done. But it is great to know that no matter your financial situation at that time, you and your family will never need to suffer or lose your home when one of you is sick or injured.
The peace of mind this gives you increases your quality of life in a way that you can't put a price on.

You're not dead until you're warm and dead.

KathyB, agreed! Comments on medical insurance are not even what it is about. The woman (and the boy mentioned) survived horrific accidents and that is amazing!
Player #9215425
millwallmarty, not true. I have relatives who live in Sweden who say they have to wait ages to see a doctor. When someone finds a lump in her breast, they are seen nearly immediately in the U.S., but in Sweden, you must wait several months but by then, the cancer can be much worse. My relatives often complain about Sweden's health care system

That is wrong! The lowest body temperature was on the case of Jean Hillard, wich survived even that parts of her body was completely frozen (eyes and legs)

I've never heard of medical staff working to save anyone for more than a couple of hours, if that, even for a president or celebrity! Has anyone else?

Player #mimi2157, Maybe you're spoiled, arrogant and entitled. I went years without health insurance until the government started offering "socialized" health care. I truly cannot understand why people make decisions against their best interest.
Player #14706337
ezasjel I watched that movie in the theatre it is an amazing movie and it is a true story 🙂
Pax
millwallmarty, what you say is mostly true, but the procedure was performed in Tromsø, Norway. It's still free as our health system is quite similar to the Swedish one, and swedes being treated in Norway doesn't have to pay anything either...

( Snail Darter), do you mean the high taxation which they pay from their very high salaries and enjoy a very high standard of living? Thereby avoiding the national shame that is attached to a country that let's poor people suffer disease and death if they cannot PAY for medical treatment
