At 54 I am facing a knee replacement due to wear and tear so quite right, not just the elderly are affected.

I have suffered with chronic arthritis pain for the last 7 years. Trouble is, with all the bad press & publicity about opioid pain med's, it's nearly impossible to get the medication I truly need. Dr.'s are paranoid about prescribing effective levels of pain relief.

I'm 62 and have osteoarthritis in pretty much all of my joints. My late father had it around his heart from what his dr said. I didn't know arthritis is a rheumatic disease. I had rheumatic fever as a child. Wonder if that was related to arthritis? Anyone know?

58 and I just had a total hip replacement in my right hip. Now I need a knee replacement on the same leg. I have severe hearing loss and wear hearing aids on account of arthritis. If it gets worse I'll need a cochlear implant in both ears. I'll soon be the bionic woman.

ChampionNymph37634, yes so true. It’s terrible. I heard of a man that committed suicide because he was in so much pain and couldn’t get the help he needed.

When I started having pain in my left knee, my mom was hoping it was a sport trauma or arthritis. Turns out, it was osteosarcoma, a common bone cancer amongst tweens and teens.
