philo Farnsworth was in my mother in laws graduating class in idaho...she always credited him with the invention of the television.

Baird invented mechanical television, and demonstrated its functionality prior to this - I think the question was looking for CRT television though, which it should have specified.

This is a complete lie. Farnsworth was NOT the first person to transmit a moving image. If you google ‘who invented television’ you will find a Wikipedia article that mentions many names (mainly British and Italian) of people who contributed to the development of television both prior to and after Farnsworth’s experiments. Don’t believe everything you read here.
