Player Meyer, It was during the shooting of Blazing Saddles that Brooks learned of a movie idea from one of his co-stars, Gene Wilder. It was a comedic "horror" movie titled "Young Frankenstein." During filming, there was a scene in which the monster (Peter Boyle) dances with Wilder on stage. Brooks didn't like it and wanted to cut the scene. Wilder lobbied hard to convince Brooks, to the point of anger. Brooks relented and the rest is history.
