2gameORnot2game4mE, A scientific theory is an explanation for an observable phenomenon in the natural world based on the repeated and verified facts obtained by empirical evidence. Hence we have gravitational theory, germ theory, cell theory to name a few. It is not a guess or a hunch. Feel free to test gravitational theory by stepping out of any 10th floor window you like.

Creationists believe in a literal translation of the bible as Gods creation of the world. You can still believe God created the world as Genesis is not literal. But creationist is a specific literal translation. Many Christians would be upset at being called a creationist.

never fails to make me smile.....creationism, where facts are fiction.

Gary, "science still has not produced one shred of factual evidence". Ah for f*** sake, you gotta be kidding me.
There is plenty of evidences provided by scientists around the globe that supports Darwin theory. The science community is able prove it via:
- the study of fossils
- the development and spread of antiobiotic resistant bacteria (proof of evolution)
- comparison of DNA genetic sequences
- look up phylogenetic reconstruction... it's gonne burst your bubble or make yourself bury your head deeper in the sand.
The exemples above are just a small quantity of the tons of evidence proving it. It's just that some people doesn't want to believe facts that contradicts their opinions or/and personal views.

I believe in science, not some magical man in the sky...

Player #4250921, True, but unfortunately in the great U.S. of A. those of us who do not believe in a God/ess are constantly reminded of it.
It is written on our money, in our Constitution, in the pledge of allegiance, etc. It just recently became a law that won't allow women to do what they want with their own bodies
Is it REALLY freedom of speech, then? Sounds like it is only freedom as long as you are a God-fearing person.
Frankly, I am more afraid of righteous humans. Happy Zombie-Jesus day, everybody!!

NOT TO GET INTO AN ARGUMENT, BUT GENESIS IS HISTORY ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE. I 2 TIMOTHY 316 IT SAYS ALL SCRIPTURE IS GOD BREATHED.

Theory of evolution has proven to be fact! Not an opinion yet and observable phenomenon.
Jimmy8fingers
MustyWombat, the theory is a gravity is a theory that has been proven via scientific method, the theory of evolution has not been proven as there is no scientific evidence of inter-species evolution. I choose to believe in intelligent design rather than some cosmic accident.

Very soon the whole world will come to know the truth. So no need to argue.

I grew up being taught young Earth Creationism... Not so common in England. That really messed with my head. By age 9 I was sceptical, but I was a child. my opinion meant nothing. In this age of information there's no excuse for such purposeful ignorance! We find the truth by means of tested evidence, not "holy" books!!

Centenarian, I LOVE getting the religious/evolution questions for the SAME reason!! It's always interesting to peruse the comments on these types of questions!!
