Since y'all bring up Heather O'Rourke, she was not the only actor to have died in direct connection with the Poltergeist franchise. Heather died during the filming of the last installment. However, Dominique Dunn, (Dana) was murdered at her own home, by her ex-boyfriend, after the first installment. Other "odd" things took place surrounding all of the "Poltergeist" movies. Why was her voice "squeaking"?

I am almost 39 and this movie still effects me. Why I was allowed to watch this movie as a child I will never know. I don't watch scary movies and this movie is why. I have anxiety. Not today Satan! LOL.
