out how to twist open a jar lid by wrapping their body around it & rotating. They are also amazing escape artists. They can get through the smallest openings or cracks. Find a book or video about them. You will be astounded.

In a nutShell.., what you are describing are not Blue-ringed Octopus, but Blue Bottles (a jellyfish like colony of polyps )
The Blue-ringed Octopus lives in rocks around the coastline and almost never washes up on the beaches.
Also their bite is nearly always painless, as their venom contains a powerful numbing agent.
