[bobbo16], all of these decomposing sites are going to be the oil fields in the future in about 20 million years. that's what should be done with the giant plastic trash island that no one can think to do with. grind it into the smallest particles possible and then inject it into the voids left from where they've pumped oil from and as it decomposes and outgasses keep injecting more and let it become oil all over again

I lived in Virginia Beach, moved to TN in 2000. The Boy Scouts had their derby car races there many years ago. The fireworks and picnics there are some of my fondest memories!

NCTarheel42, I have lived in VB all my life. They try to stop people sledding now due to lawsuits. Nothing due to the former landfill status--just going downhill could cause you to run into something or someone and get hurt, and the city doesn't want that happening on their property.
