Player #11063428, Australian grown rice uses 50% less water than the global average. If Australia stopped growing rice we would import more from overseas (Thailand, China). Australian rice is grown in dry fields with irrigation, not paddies. While much of Australia is dry, places like the Ord river area get nearly 2 metres of rainfall a year and have plenty of water.

In Guyana, in the planting season, when the paddy fields are flooded, the most delicious fish, locally called "hassa", feeds on the paddy. When they are fairly small - roughly 5 inches in length and with a nice shiny black: that is the ingredient for a famous fish curry with green mangoes. If more people on death row knew of this dish, they would choose same as a fitting last meal.
