I read them all and even saw Elie Wiesel speak about them in person. I went on a tour of Europe when I was a teenager in the 1970’s. We visited Munich and there was an option to visit Dachau - a political concentration came. I promised myself that I wouldn’t enter the crematorium but all the buildings looked the same. I walked in and walked out. In those few minutes even 30 years later you could still smell the human flesh. People tell me that it’s my duty as a Jew to visit Holocaust Museums but I just can’t do it. I tell them the above and they usually say that I get a pass.
