Who painted "The Birth of Venus"?

If she was birthed and fully grown, why does she have a bellybutton ? It's funny how artists paint what they see and are used to.

One of my favourite pieces of art. I first saw a picture of this when I was about 5yrs old. It mesmerised me...

Surely, it should be painted, not made!
