Stepwells are most common to which region of the world?

They are marvels. the Adalaj vav in Gujrat has intricate carvings and engineering is awe inspiring.

Above picture is of the world famous Stepwall. Which name is the "Chand Babri Of Aabhaneri". This is the nearest tourist place from my hometown.If anyone from you comes to visit here,then "Your Most Welcome In this Tourist Place".

The descent down and up with or without the extra weight of water does not look for the faint of heart or the physically unfit. But that being said, a person would get their exercise climbing that every day for water.

In Indian subcontinent, The stepwell is called 'Baoli'

Stepwells in India or commonly known as Bavdi,as the name suggests are wells with steps descending into it. It is made to make the collection of water more comfortable and also served as a source of leisure and worship.

Interesting! How Long did it take to build that? How about some measurements? How much time to walk to the bottom? Is the water clean down there?
