What did an Irishman called Thomas Blood try to do that made him famous in 1671?
Correct answer: Steal the English Crown jewels
Debidedodah
Was he punished for treason or what? Feel like I’ve just read a soap script and the episode has finished on a bit of a cliffhanger!! 😁

Debidedodah, Following his capture, Blood refused to answer to anyone but the King and was consequently taken to the palace in chains, where he was questioned by King Charles, Prince Rupert, and others. King Charles asked Blood, "What if I should give you your life?", and Blood replied, "I would endeavour to deserve it, Sire!"[5] To the disgust of Ormonde, Blood was not only pardoned but also given land in Ireland worth £500 a year.

Debidedodah, I suspect it's because the word count is limited, both for the explanatory text, and for comments and responses in this section. There's only so much you can write before the word limiter cuts you off.

Debidedodah, actually no he was apparently a funny guy with a great sense of humour so he was pardoned by king Charles II ... the damage done to the crown jewels can still be seen today
