Zephyr also had a male love interest, Hyacinth. Apollo also loved Hyacinth and in jealousy, Zephyr accidently killed Hyacinth with a blast of wind that knocked his discus against his head. Hyacinth was turned into a flower, Hyacinthus. Zephyr sought protection from Apollo by serving Eros.
