Which fruit is in the picture?

Kumquats are good but a strange fruit. It starts out extremely sour but as you chew it it gets really sweet. I like them though.

I've eaten them a few times around Christmas. If memory serves me, they were included in a fruit basket type holiday gift. I popped them in my mouth whole - peel & all - they weren't bad - tasted much like an orange. In fact, I think they would make a good marmalade, the same as oranges.

The first time I saw a kumquat was in a grocery store in Worland Wyoming. Woulda thunk.

It's very popular in Corfu. They make delicious liqueur and sweets from it.

my ex mother-in-law had one and my ex would take and eat the whole thing, skin and all. I tried one and it tasted like eating an orange peel.

I can't find real tangerines anymore, those "cutie" things are NOT tangerines, I miss REAL tangerines !! What happened to them ?? They were so much tastier than oranges or "cuties" which all taste flat to me.

A lot of Kumquats are grown near Dade City, FL.

you can eat the peel... I agree they taste like orange peel. the are very ornamental and often used in fruitcakes. makea a good curl of garnish on a cranberry cocktail.
