Who was booked as the opening act on the Monkees first American tour?
Correct answer: Jimi Hendrix

I like how they mention names without any pretext. Who the Hell is Chandler? And don't say Matthew Perry.

The sounds Hendrix got out of his guitar, without a synthesizer, are mind blowing.

Phiend99, Chas Chandler was the original bass player with The Animals (House Of The Rising Sun, We Gotta Get Outta This Place); he then became manager to Jimi Hendrix and also a band called Slade.

Phiend99, I agree, they should elaborate. they were referring to chas Chandler of the Animals. he was jimi's manager.

Phiend99, Chas Chandler. He was the bassist in the Animals and went on to become Jimi Hendrix's manager.

Greyghost 68, Thank you. I didn't know that. It's cool to know what happens to various band members etc.

RushMama2112
Phiend99, I'm guessing he was Jimi's manager. Or the promoter.

They sure didn’t expand too much on the Monkeys. I absolutely love the monkeys and have actually seen all of their shows when I was a kid. The y were so talented, silly, and funny. Still remember Dave’s on the Brady bunch

I can 't believe that the multi- talented Hendrix would lower himself to be the opening act for a fabricated group like the Monkees!

I hate the way the explanations bounce all over - is "the Experience" a band?
