Player Cosmo Chic, don't tell an Australian that. They were imported to wipe out the cane beetle but have spread across the country and are destroying our wildlife. Dreadful creatures.

Player Elf Counsel, Because the cane beetle lives at the top of the sugar cane - out of reach of the introduced cane toad! I mean who did the research on that one?!

Player Elf Counsel, they have now spread into the northern part of Western Australia. Crows have learned to flip them onto their backs and eat the innards that way, away from the poison on their backs. Scientists are also teaching native animals that they are poisonous.
